Aleppo Thin Flatbread Recipe
Preparation Time : 10 Mins
Total Time: 60 Mins
3 cups plain flour
1 ½ cup warm water
1 teaspoon active instant dry yeast
1/5 cup olive oil
Salt to taste
1/2 cup parsley leaves to garnish
How to Do
Crispy, spicy, thin flatbread! We love basically anything with bread. We topped off this homemade flatbread with some semi-spicy aleppo pepper, a favorite spice found in Middle Eastern cuisine. It's oh so delicious!
Utensils: bowl, baking tray
Suggested Pairing: mouhamarra dip, tatziki dip
Preheat the oven at 180°C.
Dissolve the yeast into the water and let sit for 5 minutes.
Gradually add the flour reserving some for dusting and kneading. Mix well, season with salt and start kneading the dough onto a clean work surface. Sprinkle with more flour as needed to get an elastic, workable dough.
Shape into a ball and place into a bowl. Cover with a towel and let it rest for 20-30 minutes.
Deflate the dough and divide into 10-12 pieces. Flatten each piece with your hands and place onto a lined baking tray.
Mix the olive oil with the Aleppo pepper and sumac to make a paste. Add dollops of the paste on each flatbread.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Serve sprinkled with fresh parsley leaves.
